Ceres GC

Ceres Golf Club is a semi private club dating far back to the 20th century, with a 9 hole golf course, and 18 different teeing grounds to compensate for a full round of golf. Ceres GC is set in a breath taking background at the border of an attractive village in the Cape’s Breede River Valley. Ceres Golf Club is surrounded by the magnificent Skurweberg hill, huge plain lands and water features along the ever-flowing Breede River in the Western Cape Winelands.

The golf course at Ceres Golf Club is the brainchild of its then members who designed and built the golf course themselves, judging their technique by trial and error. Years later, Ken Elkin, a well know golf course re-designer in the Western Cape offered to integrate many modern-day standard golf course features.

Visitors are welcome every day and all patrons are advised to observe the casual wear dress code. Other Golf services offered by the Ceres Golf Club include a halfway house, function facilities, driving range, a pro shop with golf carts for hire, a full service bar and a club lounge.

The Ceres Golf Club enjoys a typical Mediterranean Basin climate, thus receives most of its annual precipitation of 1000 mm during the winter month, with up to 200 mm falling in an average July.  Average maximum temperatures are in the thirties for January and February. Average minimum temperatures for July are in 2.4°C – which contributes to the regular snowfalls on the surrounding mountain peaks.
